Canopy tours where first developed in Costa Rica, as a way for research biologists to work up in the forest canopy. This concept was then adapted to accommodate tourists and has become extremely popular. There are now a number of canopy tour operators in Costa Rico, and the concept is gaining worldwide recognition and momentum as an eco friendly tourism venture with minimal impact to the environment.
The concept of a canopy tour is exactly that, it allows one to move around meters off the ground in the forest canopy. Traditionally large trees are linked together using a steal cable joining each tree together in a line also known as an aerial cable trail. This technique has now been adapted to include cliff platforms, artificial towers giving the participants unique access to truly unique environments.
The experience is truly amazing and is a non strenuous activity for all ages. It's a great family, team building and corporate activity. This activity takes you out of any normal working environment and into a new dimension in time and space. All groups are led by our qualified guides.
